Regenerative Medicine
Regenerative medicine is a field of medicine that aims to restore or replace damaged tissues or organs in the body by using the body's own regenerative capabilities. One of the techniques used in regenerative medicine is Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy. PRP is a high concentration of platelets derived from whole blood which is isolated by centrifugation to separate and concentrate platelet-containing plasma from red blood cells. PRP comprises hundreds of bioactive proteins, including growth factors, peptides, and cytokines that stimulate healing of skin and soft tissues. PRP therapy uses injections of a patient's own platelets to accelerate the healing of injured tendons, ligaments, muscles, and joints. In this way, platelet-rich plasma injections use patients' own healing system to address and improve musculoskeletal problems
