Fibromyalgia is a challenging disease that affects millions of people, predominantly women. Effective treatments for fibromyalgia include exercise and diet and prescription medications including Cymbalta, Lyrica, muscle relaxants, and anti-depressants. Our healthcare system does not adequately address the needs of patients with fibromyalgia. Our program starts with a comprehensive assessment including a review of medical records, laboratory testing, and a physical exam. We also administer standardized assessment tools to better understand your function. The core of our program consists of individual and group physical therapy, nutrition and group mental health therapy. You can select from other treatments such as pilates, acupuncture, chiropractic treatment and massage.
Physician Evaluation
Our Physician will review of your medical records, labs and treatment history and may perform additional lab testing. Evaluation may also include functional laboratory assessment if desired.
Mental Health
Weekly group therapy provides support and feedback and support during the program.
Pilates
Pilates is a form of exercise that focuses on improving flexibility, stability, and strength, particularly in the muscles of the abdomen and lower back. Pilates exercises significantly improved pain, fatigue, and quality of life in patients with fibromyalgia
Physical Therapy
One of the main treatment goals in our program is to increase your mobility and improve endurance. Physical activity increases our internal system for the management of pain. Exercise is the key to managing pain from fibromyalgia
Massage
Massage is a passive modality designed to mobilize your tissue. It has benefits for your well being, sleep, relation and stress. Consider this modality if exercise and physical activty is a struggle.
Chiropractic
Chiropractic treatment helps with spinal alignment and musculoskeletal pain. This can be helpful for chronic back pain and muscular pain.
Group Exercise
Once weekly we offer a group exercise and walking program to maintain physical fitness. Changes can occur more easily in a group setting with support from members who as also trying to change.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture involves the insertion of thin needles through the skin into specific points on the body. research suggests that acupuncture may stimulate the release of endorphins, the body's natural pain relievers that can help reduce pain and inflammation
Meditation
We plan to offer meditation in the future. Meditation can be effective in modulating stress and pain.
